The Secretariat consists of the General Secretary’s Office and Uniting Creative — the Synod communications unit.
The General Secretary, the Rev. Dr Andrew Williams, is the Executive Officer of the Synod and is responsible for coordinating the work of the Synod boards and other agencies. The role of General Secretary involves pastoral, advisory and administrative functions.
Uniting Creative publishes and distributes Insights magazine, Connect newsletter, Mustard Seed, Living is Giving, The Link and other publications. Uniting Creative conducts media relations and provides printing and web services for the Uniting Church. It also helps church and other organisations find affordable solutions to their communications problems — in the media, on the internet or with publications.
